At Montana River Outfitters, we believe the best way to experience Montana is from the water. Since 1977, Montana River Outfitters has been guiding unforgettable river adventures through some of the most scenic and remote landscapes in the state. For nearly 50 years, Montana River Outfitters has been a staple in northcentral Montana. While Craig Madsen was at the helm for years, upon his retirement he sold Montana River Outfitters to Matt Turner and Sasja Fenimore, who are both excited to continue and build on the legacy and operation.

Based in Great Falls, Montana, we specialize in creating authentic outdoor experiences for adventurers of all kinds—from first-time paddlers to seasoned anglers. Whether you're floating the legendary Missouri River, exploring the breathtaking White Cliffs or casting a line in Montana's world-class fisheries, our goal is simple: to help you slow down, soak it all in and make memories that last a lifetime.

Montana River Outfitters was founded in 1977 with a vision to share the unmatched beauty of Montana’s rivers with others. What began as a passion for the outdoors has grown into a trusted outfitting service known for quality, expertise and unforgettable experiences.

Rooted in Great Falls—an area rich in history tied to the Missouri River and the legendary journey of Lewis and Clark—our company carries on a long tradition of river exploration.
